A competitor plays a Steinway piano at The Leeds Conservatoire Piano Competition

Leeds Conservatoire Piano Competition Finals 2024 | Sunday, 21st April at 14:30

For the ninth year, we welcome back four LCom Conservatoire finalists to compete for £500 and their own solo, prizewinning recital at Seven Arts, Chapel Allerton. We have now reached the finals of this year's competition and the contestants have been whittled down to four. Watch the pianists navigate the challenges of their chosen repertoire as they battle head-to-head to win this coveted prize. Adjudicator will be James Kirby from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama .

If you would like to spend a Sunday afternoon listening to beautiful classical piano music in an intimate setting whilst supporting Leeds upcoming talent, why not come along. This event is free and open to all.

Piano Dissection Event at Besbrode Pianos | Saturday, 27th April at 10am - 1pm

Join the fabulous Pianodrome team at Besbrode Pianos to rescue pianos destined for landfill. Learn how to dismantle pianos into component parts with the aim to re-purpose them into magnificent piano planters to be seen in and around Leeds during the Leeds Piano Competition 2024. With simple hand tools and audience participation a piano will be taken apart over the course of a couple of hours.

If you would like to get involved, why not come along. This event is free and open to all.

Theres no hard sales here and your left to literally try as many pianos as you like. They don't rush you to buy and let you find the right piano which is what all piano shops should do! 10th December 2007, The Sculpture "Hello Friends" was installed in 2007 in the atrium at Bridgewater Place, Leeds. Artists Bryan and Laura Davies were commissioned in 2006 by the building developers Landmark Development Projects Ltd and St James Securities Ltd, designing and making the work in one year.
